Hi there! Welcome to our shop. This part of our shop is where you get to know us and our processes.

The Tighty Whitey guys have moved!

Erik Durant

So, we’re a little late in officially making this announcement. Erik and I relocated to Portland, Oregon in May 2016.

Many life events happened between our move from Washington, DC to the Pacific Northwest. We got married, got a puppy, and bought a house!

This year, I have made the jump and resigned from my 15-year federal government career to pursue my passion—to run a business in which I truly believe. Now that I have all the time to dedicate to nurturing and growing our business, we are starting to be more visible in the craft scene of Portland and the PNW. We’ve been juried and invited to participate in several craft fairs such as the Portland Night Market, Crafty Wonderland, and Oregon City Farmers Market.

We’ve changed our soap sleeves! Erik had a vision in mind that I was able to execute so now our soaps are all wearing tighty whities!

We changed the packaging of our sugar scrubs. Instead of mason jars, we have plastic jars that are waterproof. They’re easier and cheaper to ship!

We added soy wax melts to our candle section. We’ve added several new scents such as Blood Orange, Clean Cotton, and Coffee & Cream to name a few.

But as always, all our bath & body products are still 100% all-natural. We still don’t use artificial fragrances nor artificial colors. Our soy wax candles and melts are still made with sustainable soy wax using nothing but bath-and-body quality fragrances.

Follow us on social media so you can keep abreast of the many new and exciting developments the Tighty Whitey guys are making.

Happy New Year!!

Erik Durant

It's been a whirlwind start of 2016 for the Tighty Whitey guys. After a sold-out inventory from the holiday craft season, we've been busy building up our supply again of soap bars, candles, sugar scrubs, and lip balms in time for our first show of the new year. And speaking of shows, we're very excited to announce our first craft show of 2016:

30th Virginia Beach Spring Craft Market
March 18-20, 2016
Virginia Beach Convention Center
Virginia Beach, VA

We had such a great time at the holiday show in Virginia Beach and met so many awesome people, we had to come back. So if you're in the area, please stop by and say hello! We'll be at other shows this year too. Check out our "Events" section to find the latest information on where we'll be.

New Products

We are working on several new additions to our shop in time for the upcoming shows. We're currently perfecting new shaving soaps and aftershaves, which we are really excited to launch. And we've just launched our spring candle line. featuring several all new scents, along with an addition size. We're now offering our standard 9 oz. candle with wood wick (glass jar) but are introducing a 4 oz. travel tin candle with cotton wick for even more options to chose from.

Some of the new candle fragrances we're most excited for this season include:

Turks & Caicos: This candle will make you hunger for the tropics. With its irresistible blend of coconut, pineapple, rum, tangerine, banana, and melon, one whiff of this candle and you'll be transported right to the Caribbean. Perfect for summertime or just any day when you want to escape to the islands.

Alpine Run: Our Alpine Run candle will take you on a jog through a snowy forest of scents. With rich woody and musk base notes and an enchanting fusion of herbs and amber, this candle appeals to both men and women. Infused with natural sage, lavandin, and orange essential oils, this sexy scent is perfect for the lumberjack - or lover of lumberjacks - in your life.

Honeydew Melon: One whiff and we know you'll fall in love with this candle's juicy fragrance. Sweet and crisp, this candle smells like the ripest honeydew you could possibly imagine. One of our personal favorites!

Flower Market: Close your eyes and you'd think you just landed in the middle of the most fragrant flower market in the world. True and enchanting notes of almost every flower imaginable - like lily, lilac, rose, and hyacinth - will fill your home and brighten your day.

Lemon Pound Cake: Your mouth will water when you take a whiff of our Lemon Pound Cake candle. Smelling like a sweet treat straight from the oven, this candle combines notes of freshly baked yellow pound cake with a sugary lemon glaze and a hint of warm vanilla.

Other new candles this season include Spa DayAfrican Violet, and Passion Guava! We've also added a new sugar scrub - Grapefruit Eucalyptus, made with all-natural essential oils as always. This scent combo is really underrepresented in the market and that's a shame...they smell amazing together! Crisp, bright, herbal, and sweet, a perfect way to wake up your skin in the morning!

All of these products are available on our site, through our Etsy shop, or at any of our upcoming shows. And we hope to see you soon!

Gearing up for our first Arts & Crafts Show

Erik Durant

In a little less than a month, Tighty Whitey Soap & Candle Co. will debut at T.C. Williams High School's 6th Annual Handmade Holiday Craft Fair and we couldn't get more excited!!! As soon as we found out that we've been invited to participate, everything switched into high gear. So many things had to be considered: table, signs, labels, and inventory. Tons of inventory. We thought that since we were just starting, we would keep at most 12 of each item in our inventory.

The support has been so overwhelming from our family and friends that we have decided to introduce our products to our immediate community in person! The T.C. Williams Craft Fair is THE perfect place to get to know other vendors and get insights on the arts and crafts community in the area, not to mention to meet people.

If you guys get a chance, come check out the craft fair on November 21st from 10am-4pm. See you there!
